If you have a child that is interested in the sport of track and field, you are invited to join the Northwest Flyers Track Club.  We offer a full range of track and field events for boys and girls ages 6 – 18, and we are celebrating our 35th anniversary season this year. The team was founded by Texan and Olympic gold medalist Fred Newhouse to foster the development of youth track and field in the northwest Harris County area.  

Practices will start in February at Cy-Fair and Klein ISD school tracks and the track meets will start in April. The Northwest Flyers Track Club Team kicks off the fall season for Youth Cross Country with a mandatory orientation meeting for parents and athletes on Monday, September 13th, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. at the Matzke Park Pavilion, 13110 Jones Rd, Houston, TX 77070. Register online starting on September 1st at www.northwestflyers.org - click the “Join Us” button on the homepage.  Practices are held at the Kickerillo-Mischer Reserve in Houston and at Spring Creek Park in Tomball.

The Northwest Flyers Track Club is a member program of USA Track and Field (USATF), the national governing body for track and cross-country, including the USA Olympic Team. The club is celebrating its 34th year in the northwest Houston area.  Ages 6 - 18 may participate in the team, and both beginners and experienced runners are welcome.
